Our product range also includes ultrasound gels, condom coating agents and products for use in healthcare, such as lubricants for the fitting of hearing aids. Our company is based at Petrisberg -Science Park- in Germany's oldest city – Trier. All of our work surrounding our product development, production and sales is coordinated here.

New EU Cosmetics Directive

The Directive (EC) No. 1223/2009 on cosmetic products will be valid in binding form from 11 July 2013 onwards, and largely replace the existing laws on cosmetics.

From 11 July 2013 onwards, the EN ISO 22716:2007 standard will gain a quasi legislative character. The DIN EN ISO 22716:2008-12 corresponds with the stated standard. This is the German version. The goal of the GMP standard ('GMP guideline') is primarily to guarantee a high degree of product safety. 

Harmonised standard 

In art. 8, section 1, the EU Cosmetics Directive (EC) No. 1223/2009 requires the production of cosmetic products to take place 'in accordance with sound production practices'.

As the internationally harmonised EN ISO 22716:2007 standard has been published in the official European Union gazette, from 11 July 2013 onwards, the contents gain a quasi legislative character. In this context, the specifications of this standard become obligatory for manufacturers, and their compliance with them can be monitored by the supervisory authorities.

LIVONDO® is optimising its production processes and reducing its delivery times.The goal is to guarantee our customers delivery times that are as short as possible. This can only take place if the process for procuring raw materials and filling are optimised. 
We have been working on a solution to these components for several months.Steps have been taken in tube filling and the production time has been significantly reduced. Discussions have also taken place with tube manufacturers who have indicated that a reduction in production times will be guaranteed for the future.

Economic Senate

Carola and Roland Lehmann, Managing Directors of LIVONDO  are appointed Senators in the Economic Senate.

The General Secretary of the Economic Senate, Andreas Geuss, contacted Mr. Roland Lehmann and requested a personal conversation with him. After a conversation lasting nearly 4 hours, he announced that he and the Board Chairman Dieter Härthe would be very happy if LIVONDO, as represented by Carola and Roland Lehmann, were to bring its ethical values and goals to the Economic Senate. The Economic Senate consists of personalities from the area of business, science and society who are especially aware of their responsibility towards the state and society. They are messengers of the Senate and through their membership contribute to realising the goals of the Senate in dialogue with decision makers from the worlds of politics, business, culture and media. The Economic Senate thereby revives the traditional approaches of the Senate dating from the era of antiquity. A balanced circle of free-spirited friends followed the public good rather than particular interests. The Senate's ethical principles form the basis and guidelines for the economic work of the members of the Senate. The work of the Senate is characterised by fairness and partnerships in business life and the social competence of entrepreneurs and directors.

The BSCI Code of Conduct

All directors of LIVONDO sign a declaration that they will comply with the BSCI Code of Conduct.

In accordance with the Conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the UN Global Compact and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and other internationally recognised agreements, the BSCI Code of Conduct aims to attain compliance with certain social and environmental standards. By signing the BSCI Code of Conduct, companies commit, within their scope of influence, to acknowledge the social and environmental standards laid down in the Code and to take appropriate measures within their company policy for implementation of and compliance with these standards. 
Supplier companies must ensure that the Code of Conduct is also observed by subcontractors involved in production processes in the final manufacturing stages carried out on behalf of BSCI members.

Distributors wanted worldwide of a unique silicone Lubricant

LIVONDO  OEM personal lubricant gel manufacturer from Germany received the medical approval for silicone lubricant gel from the US Food and Drug Administration “FDA”

Medical CE lubricant gel on the basis of a unique silicone. Given its properties, this silicone promises a powerful range. The soft gel can be used as moisturising medical lubricant gel during sexual intercourse and for the versatile fields of application of this product in the healthcare sector (hospitals, healthcare, health style, etc.). A “medical device” FDA approval is approved for being used in contact with the mucous membrane in the USA. A “cosmetic device” FDA approval serves for being used on the skin. This should be observed in any case.

LIVONDO provides its customers with the option of using this medical lubricant gel as private label. The required and expensive approvals are not applicable, because these are present and can be used. You can make a bulk order (self-filling) or you can ask LIVONDO to completely fill the goods, e.g. in bottles, tubes, ampoules, sachets, dispensers, canisters or containers. The customer will be provided with all documents required for the aforementioned.

Production of lubricant gels in modular design

A couple of years ago, LIVONDO specialised on the production of medical CE lubricant gels according to a modular system. The customer relies on our already approved recipes and saves large amounts of time and money this way.
Together with our customers, we specify the products in accordance with their ideas, e.g. viscosity, flavours, scents, haptics and visual appearance, always in advance during a check-up. After the specifications have been established, the required samples are produced in our state-of-the-art laboratory and the customer is provided with these samples for a short period of time. Upon the customer’s approval, the product is filled into already pre-ordered packagings. The finished goods are shipped to the headquarters or different national and international branch offices as requested by the customer.

A Question oft Delimination
Companies in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries are constantly on the lookout for new products to add to and round off their portfolio. If, in the course of an in-depth search in the growth area of healthcare, they come across OTC drugs or medical products, for example, then a phase of disenchantment often sets it.

The regulatory demands and quality standards that have to be satisfied in an area that does not belong to their core competence soon create the impression that such products are unprofitable. In such situations, however, everything is a question of 

delimitation - in this case between distribution, manufacturing and production. The demands on a licence to place medical products or drugs on the market are clearly stipulated in EU directives and national legislation. Thus since July 2006 manufacturers of medical devices of higher classes have to fulfil the quality standard DIN EN ISO 13485:2003. A cosmetics company which wishes to extend its product portfolio by a single medical product, such as a tooth whitener, suddenly faces a considerable certification effort. In addition, the time-to- market of the new product is significantly lengthened by the necessary reorganisation of the existing quality management systems.

The manufacture of drugs and medical products is more than just a technical process, but instead a regulatory one: recognition of this fact can reduce costs. For the consumer the case is clear cut:

The manufacturer ist the company whose brand name appears on the product. In actual fact, that company is frequently not the manufacturer. As distributing company it farms manufacturing out to a contract manufacturer. So far, so good. However, according to drug and medical product legislation, the manufacturer is that company which releases the product for the market or places it on the market. And it can make perfectly good sense if that company is neither the distribution company nor the contract producer.
